A New WAG Wannabe Unsettles Stamford Bridge

Stamford and Bridget in Asia. Loved up or just friends?

Not for the first time has a female sent waves of gossip and controversy through Stamford Bridge. It emerged this week that Bridget the Lioness would be accompanying Stamford the Lion on his pre-season tour of Asia.

Although a spokesman for Stamford maintains the two are just friends, they have been spotted out on several occasions. As rumours of a female being with the team rumbled through the back pages, the club were forced to officially unveil Bridget as a ‘companion’ of Stamford so as to quell the latest surge of gossip about the private lives of Chelsea team members.

As she was introduced to the press, Bridget and Stamford opted for a casual high five to highlight their relationship as that of a professional nature and nothing more. Stamford, has to this point enjoyed the life as a confirmed bachelor. And was never going to be tied down like the likes of Samson at Sunderland.

After seeing the controversies that several of his teammates have endured in recent years, Stamford has managed to keep a low profile in terms of his personal life. He dedicates much of his time to the club but managed to find some time to run the London Marathon in 2010. With so much going on for the young lion, he's been hesitant to settle into a relationship - especially after some of the examples he's witnessed close to home.

Stamford has a special relationship with John Terry with the two spotted both before matches in their rituals to the occassional lads night out for a pint and who knows what else. Through his time at the club, Stamford has learned that every lion worth his salt needs more than one lioness to keep his pride going. Something he’s picked up from his teammates no doubt.

Is it possible that Bridget has managed to tame JT’s bezzie mate? Although they have kept the public displays of affection to a minimum, Bridget’s appearances with Stamford have increased in recent weeks. And the lioness had been caught by insiders den hunting in SW6.

The two will travel together to the US ‘as friends’ but could return to London as something more.
