Fabregas: 24 goals+assists in 38 games. Everyone calm down |
After Manchester City’s embarrassing defeat to Burnley, Sunday’s early kick-off was the perfect opportunity for Chelsea to pull that much further ahead in the title race. So the draw may have felt a little more like a loss than it should have. But it wasn’t exactly the worst thing to ever happen in the history of time. The discontent was palpable - and isn’t going to do the players any favours in the lead up to the end of the season.
Chelsea struggled in the first half and were unlucky to have conceded a penalty. They did well to regroup at half time and played some excellent attacking football. Unsurprisingly Eden Hazard at the heart of everything that went well. Southampton are a brilliantly organised defence and were always going to be difficult to break down. It’s surprising that anyone could say that Chelsea didn’t do what they could to try and orchestrate a goal.
Fabregas is the worst player I've seen in my 42 year old experience as a Chelsea fan.

One of the most concerning points that has emerged from this weekend is the desperation for a scapegoat. And how misguided the judgements are in those who seek him out. Much of the weight of the loss was put on Cesc Fàbregas’ shoulders. Why? Because you read that Barca said he disappears in the second half of a season so obviously it must be true. Who needs the second half of the season to actually play out?! Everyone should ignore the fact that he’s had a virus, an injury and was by and large not even close to the poorest performer on Sunday - let’s just put it on him because he used to play for Arsenal.
Chelsea would not be six points clear at the top of the table without Cesc Fàbregas’ contributions earlier in the season. He has directly contributed to 24 goals in all competitions and there still 10 games to be played. For people who can seemingly remember supporting the team for decades (and seen some questionable players and terrible results in that time) - it’s odd that they can’t remember much of the last few months. Chelsea sit top of the table, 6 points clear and have a game in hand against Leicester. There's 19 worse positions to be in.
And to the silly sod who tried to make a name for himself -- no one actually believes you're a Chelsea supporter but a pathetic Twitter troll who needs to grow up.
