The FA Cup is Danny's Bitch

The EyeBwow of Doom II

Out of work...Uncle Woy does his best to muster an Eyebwow of Doom all on his own.

I'm baaaaaaaaaack!

So, I'm sure that you were all relieved that your holiday inboxes were not flooded by me, especially after some of the results we had to witness. No one really needed the constant reminder. And although its long gone now, I want to make sure that you all know that despite the ridiculous rumours that floated around that our match was cancelled with United due to our form or other some such that conspirators would like to address....I can tell you unequivocally, that the club has nothing to do with the match being post-poned and it comes down to the city council and match officials. To be fair, the match still should have went on as it wasn't dangerous, but there it is. We can watch this one pan out in March.

I don't want to put too much stock into our victory over Ipswich, as according to any and all Gooners pre-Wednesday, its 'only Ipswich', but a win is a win, and what we need more than anything right now is confidence. Its been shattered over the past couple of weeks, and embarassing somebody, anybody, is exactly what we needed to remind ourselves why and how we won the double last season. Sure, our bench is a little on the thin side, and we should seriously consider buying in this transfer window, but sitting in fifth with players of our calibre isn't really good enough at the moment. That being said, slump or no slump, we should still be out supporting the club down the pub (or at the stadiums) whatever the case may be. I was disappointed to see that we did not sell out Wolves, and disappointed to hear the numbers have dwindled at Scallywag's. Now is the time that we need to get behind the club, not shy away or be embarassed. There have been tougher times than these before us, and there will be slumps in form in the future. Its a part of the game, and only makes winning feel all the better.

Chelsea have kicked off both Champions League and our defense of the FA Cup in fine form, and we should focus on that rather than a few poor results in the league. Who hasn't had poor results in the league?!? Liverpool had Blackpool do the double over them, Arsenal could not beat 10-man Wigan (or Leeds or Ipswich...this could go on), while United were embarassed by Birmingham. Basically, we've all been tossing out results to ensure glory in next year's Europa League. Apparently, that's where its at.

Anyways, I'm keeping this short and sweet. Chelsea + Blackburn + You. Fingers crossed for a result. We probbaly did not deserve to beat them last time, so, hopefully, will play like we did on Sunday and show why we deserve three points. Will the EoD sit out Didi and FloMo as rumoured? Will Danny finally get his chance to shine as a starter in a league match rather than the FA Cup (which has become his bitch...just sayin')? Will Frank not be able to play again now that I've left the country? All things to carefully consider over the next 24 hours.

And always remember......

...don't eat yellow snow...

and

...win or lose, up the Blues!
