Thomas Tuchel insists he can keep all four of his DMs happy |
Since his arrival in the Premier League at Leicester, N'Golo Kante has widely been regarded as one of the best midfielders in Europe. However, he has struggled for minutes over the last 18 months with his time under Lampard marred by a number of injuries.
While Thomas Tuchel has heavily rotated the squad from match to match to give his new players an opportunity to impress, it has become evident that his preferred 'double-six' pairing in midfield is Jorginho and Mateo Kovacic.
Scottish starlet Billy Gilmour partnered N'Golo Kante in the Blues narrow FA Cup victory at Barnsley. With the young star looking for more minutes after having his loan move in January rejected.
Since his arrival Tuchel has openly praised World Cup winner Kante, going so far as to admit that he felt humbled for the opportunity to manage the diminutive French man.
'To start with I think that three is by far not too much for two positions', said Tuchel.
'That means everybody is on board and available if we have difficult decisions to make then it is good, we have difficult decisions to make.
'It is impossible to achieve our goals with only 12 or 13 players, it is simply not possible. So to have three guys, it is a big gift for me. And to have a fourth guy like Billy Gilmour is absolutely necessary at this kind of level.'

The new Chelsea boss went on to say he felt 'the bond between the players' and can focus on the positive atmosphere among them to make it 'special'.
Chelsea host Newcastle on Monday night with an opportunity to climb above Liverpool back into a Champions League place. The home side have lost just one of their last 16 matches at Stamford Bridge across all competitions.
Thomas Tuchel is likely to extend his unbeaten run at Chelsea with Newcastle not picking up an away win at Chelsea since 2012.
