Scoring on your teammates before they score on your bird is the way forward.
Good Blue Monday Morning (Afternoon for some of you)
That is actually the name of the day, and its meant to be a depressing term, I can’t see why. We are on back to back wins, and well, blue is a fantastic colour. We’re all friends here, be honest , who felt more relief than excitement at the three points? And as we were playing a team who had failed to score a goal at the Bridge in five years, it’s mildly worrying. That being said, we looked good from the start, and just lacked a bit of finishing until our in form striker, Branislav got in there. He was immense on both ends of the pitch as was our captain. However, most surprising, was Ramires not being a complete waste of space in yet another game. Could this be a sign of things to come, or am I just fooled because he was so utterly abysmal before, that now he’s got involved he ‘seems’ to be doing well? I would have liked to see Danny Sturridge and Josh get involved a little sooner than they did. Although Josh was never really tested, he did have a lovely ball from his first touch and Danny always looks keen. Hopefully we will see a lot more of these two in the coming weeks.
Speaking of who we will or won’t see, the transfer saga of Pienaar rages on. Apparently, is happy to take our money but Stephen is not. I don’t know if he’s good enough to have that much drama surrounding him, but we definitely need to shore up the bench a little, and he could be a greatly needed creative addition to the squad. The first half of the season when our entire midfield went down to injury was a harsh lesson learned. Let’s hope if he does arrive, he doesn’t spend the time sulking about the paycheque he could have been getting from Uncle ‘arry.
Yesterday’s football really put Saturday’s to shame with three derbies and the Sp*rs v Manc battle. However, arguably the best game was not shown on the telly just about anywhere, and it had literally everything. It may have freakishly ended in a one all draw thanks to Gyan, well, just standing there, it still seemed immense from the get go. I mean, the ‘best player in the country right now’ (aka Joey Barton) was playing. That alone should warrant broadcast rights. However, Sunderland’s black cat’s, Samson and Delilah (who are always hilarious—sorry Stamford) found an actual magpie on the pitch which they chased off of it. Personally, I think the bird they should have been chasing was Kevin Nolan for his ridiculous goal celebration, but I digress. Then after the freak goal, some naff Mackem decided to attack Stephen Harper. He was then apprehended by Sir Howard of Webb who used to lead a secret life as a crime fighter. And yet, SkySports deemed all of this entertainment unworthy. I’m assuming the pitch invasion at St. Andrews after the last Birmingham derby was a factor in the decision. Or they flipped a coin they just pulled out of their arses. Whatevs.
Anyways, we’re not back in action until next Monday as we head up to Bolton. If you can get out of work / school / or nothing if you’re in the UK and are lucky enough to see this match in its proper time make sure you do. Bolton have been fantastic this season and it will definitely be a challenge. If you’re close enough, make sure you head to the match and attempt to out sing Steve.

ps Dear Avram Grant, if
pps....well done to Wayne Bridge who managed 3 assists on 3 goals. That is most definitely worth 90K / week. Well done Bridgey.
