Essien will take you down with his bitch face....and tackles
Hello All,
Well thanks to yesterday, it’s as if Sunday can be erased from our memories. We are now 4 points clear thanks to dropped points from United, Citeh, Liverpool, Newcastle, Bolton, Sp*rs, Sunderland, and so on. And with the return of a proper midfielder we got ourselves back to winning ways. Despite some people thinking it should have been an easy win, I’m looking at you Jason Cundy, Fulham prove to be tough opposition. They defended well, and forced Cech to make some more spectacular saves. You’re welcome for not writing Cech-tacular….oh…
Anyways, back to the match. The malaria-ed Drogba did his best as the course of drugs sorts him out while Kalou was a menace to Schwarzer who was forced to make a number of outstanding saves. Kalou was again hard done by not to end up on the score sheet. Essien with yet another header was excellent, as always, in the midfield providing the strength that was so desperately missed on Sunday. It does not appear that we are fighting his red (at this time) which means he won’t be available for selection on Sunday against Sunderland. It’s a worry after the Liverpool game. However, Carlo is still toying with the rumour that a certain man who was in the stands with his father will be playing on Sunday. I cannot even believe I am telling you this, propelling these lies week after week.
But the big news in this is what did we just do? We’ve just let Ray Wilkins go with immediate effect. No explanation, only questions. Where will Ray go? Who will fill the gap? Who thinks that the club actually has a plan? Its all very strange. Word is that Wilkins is currently at our Reserve match as the story got posted onto our website. (That’s a rumour though, I’m clearly not at Cobham). Anyways, I wish Ray the best of luck wherever he goes, and am curious to know who will get the EoD his winter hat during games now??
Sunday’s game will be an 11.10am kickoff. I’m tempted to lie and say 11am just so everyone gets there on time. ;) Anyways, hope to see you for brunch and beer! Sunderland will be tough now that they’ve got Gyan finally on the pitch. He’s a threat anytime he’s close to goal. Should be interesting to see how we line up to handle him and the physicality that they’ll offer.
And thanks to a wee bit of a temper, we probably won’t be facing one of this season’s outstanding midfielders in a couple of weeks. That’s right, Joey Barton. Joey has been fantastic for Newcastle this season. Now, he’s been charged with violent conduct for doing something that more than a couple people surely have wanted to do with that punch on Gamst Pederson.
See you Sunday!
