Its Not Easy Being Green

The American Education System at WorkThe American education system in all its glory.

Ok, stupid pun, as so many of the jokes about Green have been. However, the blame being solely on him could not be more unfair. Yes, it was a blunder, but as the tournament progresses, we’ve seen more and more keepers have trouble handling this ball. It’s been harder to handle than John Terry’s public relations. The Germans came away unscathed as Australia did not fee
The papers love a scapegoat, but I think they’ve got the wrong man. What about the man who let Dempsey straight through to goal? What about the ‘player of the year’ who didn’t manage a shot on net? What about the man who decided it was a good idea to start Heskey or put Wright Phillips on in place of Milner?
Anyways, this match was always going to be tough, and despite the scoreline was not as terrible as it felt. It feels bad because on paper, our defence, midfield, and forwards area all better than the colonial counterparts. They have Tim Howard, who is awesome, but he’s not everything. We had 85 minutes after the first goal to get by Jay DeMerit and their defense. Rooney alone should have stepped up. I’m sorry Drogba took your golden boot, but you need to start scoring again.
Don Fabio needs to make changes to the lineup, but Green isn’t necessarily the man he should focus on, despite the paper talk. Not shocking, King has been a donkey played one match and is now injured. I supposed the duct tape holding his knee together let him down. Carra may get to take over that spot, or possibly even Dawson. Someone needs to remind Glenn Johnson that he got his ride there to defend. Maybe a giant leash that someone could just snap him back into position. Glenn, if you’re not going to produce a goal / assist on the attack, then make sure the other team doesn’t get one past you. Heskey, created our only goal with a beautiful ball in, should not have a chance to start. Don Fabio should either opt for speed or robot. Crouch has an eye for throwing shapes goal, and should be given his chance.
Anyways, if it weren’t for that embarrassing goal, we would not have all had the chance to see a master class in bitchface. Thank you David Beckham for rescuing the day.
